International project for the conservation of the Amur tiger population

For more than half a century, scientists have been trying to save the population of the Amur tiger, one of the largest and most valuable predators in the Russian Far East. It is the only tiger subspecies that can live in the snow. Almost all of its population lives only in Russia. Its thick fur and meat are highly prized in the black Chinese market. Poachers still hunt him, destroying not only the animals themselves, but the entire ecosystem of the region. Scientists have managed to increase the number of the population several times, but the animals are still under threat.

Baikal conservation project

In Eastern Siberia, there is a real natural treasure of Russia – Lake Baikal. This ancient and deep body of water contains the most important source of life for the entire planet – large reserves of fresh water. It is home to a variety of animal and plant species that cannot be found anywhere else on the planet. The preservation of Baikal is important for the whole world. For over 20 years it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Acid precipitation project

The number of environmental problems is growing inexorably every year. Acidic precipitation has become our new challenge. Most often, acid precipitation is a product of human activity, the result of burning fuel for energy. When burned, nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide are emitted into the atmosphere. Quite inconspicuous, they mix with the elements of the atmosphere and return to humans in the form of acid precipitation, which cause enormous damage to the environment and pose a threat even to himself. Because of them, the soil loses its fertility, forests weaken and die, the waters become toxic to its inhabitants. The entire ecosystem of the planet is being disrupted. Buildings, city objects are damaged, and the person himself is at risk of developing asthma or oncology.

Blockchain

How often, when performing banking operations, do we think about how many participants and how many risks this process involves? In reality, it is a complex centralized system in which many intermediaries are involved, and most of the information is hidden from the user. The opacity and unreliability of such a system led to the creation of a new one – the blockchain system. This is a sequential and continuous chain of blocks with information built according to the rules, which are absolutely transparent for all its participants. Each of them can track transactions in the system, has all the records, but information about other participants is not available without a unique access key. The information can neither be changed nor deleted. This transparency and reliability is increasingly attracting financial professionals.
Therefore, together with the Fenbushi Capital fund, we are developing the blockchain industry and scientific achievements in this area. We support companies that develop innovative solutions based on blockchain technologies, as well as create new ones. Blockchain can be seen as a versatile data storage tool. Its scope goes beyond financial transactions. Today we can talk about the general implementation of the blockchain system in human life. It opens up new opportunities for us in all our activities, from shopping in the supermarket to democratic elections. Our joint project with PPGlobal develops startups and creates a financial technology industry using the blockchain system. With its help, many financial processes are simplified. For example, registration of transactions, reporting, verification of a participant’s reputation or risk management. Blockchain relieves the financial sector of a huge number of intermediaries and third parties in general. Therefore, we strive to develop an industry that will make our life more convenient.

Plasma physics

In science, there is a controversial and interesting theoretical construction that seeks to explain how the visible part of the Universe works. We mean the Standard Model. It explains the interaction of all elementary particles in the world. However, it is inferior and has a number of gray spots that have yet to be discovered. Scientists have long wanted to go beyond it and look further – into the depths of dark matter, which the Standard Model does not cover. Two sciences can solve this problem: plasma physics and high energy physics. By examining plasma and colliding particles, they help to find out what the Universe was like in the first moments after its birth, how it actually works and what is beyond its visible part. The Large Hadron Collider is engaged in the collision of particles, the study of their interaction and the search for new ones.

Participation in the creation of the Large Hadron Collider is one of our main achievements. Its construction required a lot of financial costs, but the project was successfully implemented. The Large Hadron Collider is the world’s most powerful accelerator of charged particles on colliding beams. Unlike previous colliders, it can reveal to science what was previously only an idea. Today we can proudly say that one of these results already exists. This is the discovery of the Higgs boson, the existence of which until 2012 scientists only assumed. The Higgs boson is an elementary particle that can be a clue to how particles get their mass and do not scatter in space with incredible speed. The Higgs boson was discovered by the collision of two charged particles at the Large Hadron Collider.

Now, in cooperation with many countries and foundations, we are working on another international project – the creation of the world’s first commercial thermonuclear reactor ITER. This is one of the most ambitious energy projects in the world today. We want to show that a fusion reactor can become part of a commercial enterprise and change the world. The ITER experimental device is the first fusion device that can generate clean energy. This plays an important role in the development of thermonuclear science. But more importantly, it shapes our future. Thanks to him, humanity will be able to gain access to cheap and clean energy.
