Science
Mission:
Our mission is to create a universal platform where scientific works in any field are combined, in educational activities and, most importantly, in the preservation of scientific heritage for future descendants. The Ginzburg Foundation can hold a consultation or online conference with the best scientists of our time.
Major works on the propagation of radio waves, astrophysics, the origin of cosmic rays, Vavilov - Cherenkov radiation, plasma physics, crystal optics, etc. Author of about 400 scientific articles and about 10 monographs on theoretical physics, radio astronomy and physics of cosmic rays. In 1940, Ginzburg developed the quantum theory of the Vavilov-Cherenkov effect and the theory of Cherenkov radiation in crystals. In 1946, together with I.M.Frank, he created the theory of transition radiation that occurs when a particle crosses the boundary of two media. In 1950 he created (together with L. D. Landau) a semi- phenomenological theory of superconductivity (the Ginzburg - Landau theory).
