International project for the conservation of the Amur tiger population

We brought together a group of volunteers and scientists, who have set two main tasks: to preserve the Amur tiger population and bring it to a safe level. These difficult tasks are complicated not only by the threat of poaching, but also by the fact that now the animals need more space and food. Poachers have destroyed forests, which means that it is increasingly difficult for tigers to get their own food. Therefore, our project monitors the entire ecosystem of the region.
Together, we have developed a strategy that will accelerate the process of saving tigers. In the first step, each tiger is given a name and number and a GPS sensor is attached to them. So, in real time we will have the opportunity to monitor their movements and vital signs, as well as know how the tiger feels in the wild and if there is no danger for him and people. At the second stage, a drone system is introduced. Thanks to her, online we can monitor the tiger's habitat and prevent people from entering it. Today, tiger rescue is an international project.
For more than half a century, scientists have been trying to save the population of the Amur tiger, one of the largest and most valuable predators in the Russian Far East. It is the only tiger subspecies that can live in the snow. Almost all of its population lives only in Russia. Its thick fur and meat are highly prized in the black Chinese market. Poachers still hunt him, destroying not only the animals themselves, but the entire ecosystem of the region. Scientists have managed to increase the number of the population several times, but the animals are still under threat.
